ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A shooting victim walked himself to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Officials at St. Luke's Hospital at 17th and Hamilton streets contacted police after the victim, a man in his 20s, arrived around 7:40 p.m. Monday.

He'd been shot in the abdomen and was admitted for surgery, officials said.

Police said the victim was initially uncooperative, but eventually told police the shooting occurred in the area of 11th and Turner streets.

Police found a shell casing near that intersection.

The only description of the shooter was a black male.

Police hope the victim will be able to provide additional details.
