A man who had his girlfriend pinned to the floor and his forearm across her neck got into a struggle with a police officer trying to arrest him, officials said.

Anthony Dohen-Corre Bas was seen on top of his girlfriend by Ofc. Michelle Dologite when she looked into a window after hearing screaming and yelling coming from an apartment at 49 West Garrison St., Bethlehem, at about 3:25 a.m. Sunday, officials said.

Bas refused to release his girlfriend and stop pulling her hair when Ofc. Dologite ordered him to do so after she entered the apartment, and Bas started wrestling with Dologite when she tried to handcuff him, officials said.

Bas, 29, was arraigned on charges of assault, harassment, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 1.
