Anthony Foster piles up charges after driving wrong way, police say
A motorist turned one mistake two months ago into several charges, officials said.
Anthony D. Foster was pulled over in his red 2008 Ford Focus at about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 19, when he made a right turn onto Sycamore Street after traveling the wrong way on South 24th Street in Wilson borough, Northampton Co., officials said.
Foster told police he did not have any identification, but insisted several times that his name was Angel Fonseca and that he was born on Nov. 19, 1988, officials said.
After police determined his true identity and birth date, Foster was found to have an outstanding domestic relations warrant, and when he was taken to the Northampton County Prison, he was found to have a small ziplock bag of marijuana on him, officials said.
Foster, 24, of 2137 Freemansburg Ave., Wilson, was arraigned Friday on charges of giving false identification to police, marijuana possession and driving the wrong way on a one-way street and committed to prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. March 11.
