BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A teenager is facing charges in connection with the beating, choking and slashing of a man at a party, officials said.

Benjamin J. Ragsdale was arrested for assaulting Brian Lichtenwalner Saturday night at a party at the home of Alslyn Bliss, 85 East Broad St., Bethlehem, officials said.

Lichtenwalner, of 238 West Goepp St., Bethlehem, said that after hugging Bliss outside her home, he went into the house and was struck from behind by Ragsdale, who then began to choke him for about two minutes, officials said.

Lichtenwalner said Ragsdale and three other men slammed him into walls and repeatedly hit him, and that one of the men slashed his wrist with a knife, officials said.

Lichtenwalner also said he was robbed of a $400 iPhone, two gold earrings worth $100, a $100 pair of Jordan shoes, and $100 in cash from his wallet, officials said.

Ragsdale, 19, of 629 Williams St., Bethlehem, was arraigned on charges of robbery, theft, aggravated and simple assault, and harassment and committed to Northampton County Prison on $30,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 25.
