BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Tuesday night firefighters and police officers in Bethlehem held a lighter event to remember 9/11.

The annual 9/11 memorial softball game between the two groups was held at Saucon Park Fields.

Organizers say they've held the event for years and after the September 11th attacks, they decided to move the date to the 11th.

The firefighters say they held a more formal memorial earlier this morning.

"Each station at the time of the first aircraft attack and the second one we were outside saluting the flags and had the lights and the firetrucks out and this is more the fun thing to do," said Bethlehem Firefighters Local 735 union President David Saltzer.

They say it's a way to get families and friends together on what's normally a somber day.
