BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. -

Another municipality has voted to drop its lawsuit against the state over Allentown's Neighborhood Improvement Zone or NIZ for short.

The NIZ is the funding mechanism for the downtown hockey arena.

Monday night, the Bethlehem Township supervisors voted to drop their NIZ lawsuit.

The township is the second municipality to do this.

Whitehall Township voted to withdraw from the NIZ lawsuit last week.

The decisions come after the state budget cleared up concerns many municipalities had over the earned income tax and the NIZ.

More than a dozen other municipalities are expected to drop their NIZ lawsuits soon.
