BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

One of Bethlehem's current city council members plans to run for the mayor's job.

J. William Reynolds, a lifelong Bethlehem resident and councilman since 2008, will announce his intention to run for mayor at an event in front of his home on Tuesday.

He is currently serving as the chairman of the council finance committee.

Reynolds is a graduate of Liberty High School and Moravian College.

He's a history and government teacher at William Allen High School in Allentown.

Current Mayor John Callahan has held the post since 2004.
