A Bethlehem firefighter is out of a job following his arrest for allegedly driving drunk, police said.

James Schlener crashed into a utility pole at 8th Avenue and West Broad Street in Bethlehem on August 23, police said.

Schlener's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit, according to court documents.

Schlener was a member of the Bethlehem Fire Department, but police said he has since been let go.
