BANGOR, Pa. -

There were a few tense hours at a local high school Monday morning, after a bomb threat was discovered.

Bangor Area School District Superintendent Patricia Mulroy said the administrative team at the High School discovered a note that indicated a possible bomb threat Monday morning.

She said as a precaution, around 9:00 a.m., the students were removed from the school and taken to the Middle School.

According to Mulroy, the school district police department and fire department searched the school, but no device was found.

The search ended roughly an hour later, and the students were returned to class around 10:15.
