A bridge in Lehigh County that's been closed to traffic for more than 20 years has been reduced to rubble.

The Centennial Bridge off Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township is being knocked down.

The bridge was built in 1876, but it was closed to traffic in 1992 because it was deteriorating.

PennDOT said the bridge will be replaced with a cul-de-sac at the end of Station Avenue. The project is expected to cost about $530,000.
