Rescue crews pulled a man from a car that careened off Tilghman Street onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike in South Whitehall Township, police said.

Theodore Black, 44, of New Ringgold lost control of his car around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

He crossed Tilghman Street, hit an embankment and flipped before landing upside down on the Turnpike.

The Turnpike's off ramp for the Lehigh Valley exit was closed while crews responded to the scene.  Tilghman Street also saw back-ups, we're told.

Black was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.

There's no word on his condition.
