A woman suspected of stealing more than a dozen bottles of perfume and cologne from a drug store admitted to police that she took other merchandise from the store on another occasion, officials said.
Christine Reilly was being questioned by police on Nov. 18 about the theft three days earlier of three bottles of Burberry perfume, three bottles of Obsession perfume, six bottles of Eternity for Men cologne, and a bottle of One Mini-Spray worth a total of $147.21 from the CVS Pharmacy at 327 Woodlawn St., Bethlehem, officials said.
Police had a store surveillance video showing Reilly taking the items from a shelf and putting them into her handbag, officials said.
Reilly confessed to taking the merchandise after watching the video, and when police asked if she had any of stolen items to return to the store, she handed over a bottle of Juicy Couture perfume, a bottle of Happy air freshener and a bottle of strawberry lotion worth a total of about $30, officials said, adding that Reilly said she took those items earlier in the day.
Reilly, 51, of 1127 Maple St., Bethlehem, was arraigned Wednesday night on retail theft and receiving stolen property charges and was committed to the Northampton County Prison on $4,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 10.
