BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Bethlehem's city health director is facing simple assault and harassment charges.

Judith Maloney, 49, of Bethlehem, is accused of hitting her boyfriend, Michael Correll, 52, on the head with a glass candle.

The incident happened around 8:30 Thursday night at a home in the 300 block of Grandview Boulevard.

This isn't her first brush with the law.

In March of 2008, she faced charges of harassment and driving under the influence as she crashed her car into a fire hydrant, police said.

She had allegedly been repeatedly calling a woman she was not supposed to be calling at the time she crashed. That woman was accused of assaulting Maloney.

In July of 2008 the harassment charges were dropped after the other woman didn't show up in court.
