A member of a cleaning crew helped clean out almost $2,000 worth of electronic gear from a charter school last October, officials said.
Rahshon A. Ryan was working with Imperial Cleaning Professionals when he helped steal $1,760 worth of digital cameras, iPods and power cords last Oct. 18 from the Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School at 1560 Valley Center Parkway, Hanover Twp., Northampton Co., officials said.
Video surveillance tapes of the overnight hours of Oct. 17 to 18 showed Ryan and his co-workers walking throughout the building instead of doing work, officials said.
Ryan and an accomplice, Jamin Legett, were accompanied by their boss, Diane Butts, owner of Imperial Cleaning, on Oct. 19 when they returned six digital cameras, one iPod, two iPod chargers and a set of earbuds that they admitted taking from the K-12 charter school that operates out of rented space in an office park, officials said.
Ryan, 19, of 314 State St., Bethlehem, was arraigned Saturday on charges of theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. April 26.
