NESQUEHONING, Pa. -

Downed power lines kept rescue crews away from the scene of a pickup truck crash in Carbon County.

Police say a truck hit a utility pole here on Route 54 in Nesquehoning around 11:00 Thursday morning.

The pole's live wires fell onto the truck.

Rescue crews had to wait until PPL crews arrived to make sure it was safe for them to go in and help.

Police say the driver of the truck suffered some broken bones and was flown to the hospital.
