The holiday hustle is in full swing. With just one more shopping day left before Christmas, it's crunch time.
According to Consumer Reports, some 132 million Americans are still on the hunt for last-minute gifts.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. Well, except for the last minute shopping part. Local malls are crowded and parking lots are packed. There's still plenty of presents waiting to be bought.
"Got a few books and some toys for my grandsons," shared Roger Collins, who was at a local mall. "And also a few clothing items."
"I'm still worried," laughed Mary Arias. "I need to get a lot of stuff, buy a lot of stuff, and I want to get everything done before tomorrow."
A sea of shoppers roamed the Lehigh Valley Mall looking for things to place under the tree. For some folks procrastination is part of their holiday buying strategy.
"There's always a few things at the end of the Christmas cycle you can get on sale," said Collins.
Retailers were waiting for shoppers like him for the final pre-Christmas push. Many stores have big discounts, coupons and all night hours through Christmas Eve.
"Every store in here has been promoting percent off sales, two for one sales," added Mall Manager John Ferreira.
With bags in hand consumers flooded the mall. As the day went on, the assault on the shops only got worse.
"There's a lot of people who haven't started yet, I call them scramblers," smiled Collins.
Many shoppers were in a festive mood as they crossed items off their list. The hardest part of the shopping marathon may be finding a parking space.
