Dean Browning has joined the field running for Lehigh County Executive.
Browning, a Republican, and former county commmissioner, says he is the best candidate to manage and reform the county's $360 million budget and 2,000-plus employees.
Browning said the role of county executive requires a candidate who is principled, but doesn’t view every decision through the narrow lens of their own partisan political ideology.
He's a resident of South Whitehall Twp. and is the former chairman of the Lehigh County Commissioners. He ran for re-election in 2011 but lost in the primary.
Browning is the executive vice president for finance and administration and CFO for New World Aviation.
Current commissioner and fellow Republican Scott Ott announced his candidacy for county executive at an event last week.
