Repairs are set for parts of the Delaware Canal ravaged by recent flooding.

Delaware Canal State Park officials say bids are going out this week for the first phase of repairs to the canal and its towpath.

A second phase of work is expected to include repairs to damaged structures such as locks and waste gates.

Early estimates indicate the repairs will cost about $5 million.

Three-quarters of the project cost will be funded by FEMA. The state will be responsible for the rest.
