SALISBURY TWP., Pa. -

The Lehigh Valley Health Network is taking action in the wake of a surge in flu cases.

The health network will set up an ancillary emergency department outside the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital's Cedar Crest campus in Salisbury Twp., Lehigh Co., officials said Monday.

The "mobile surge tent," which will begin accepting patients Tuesday, will help the hospital deal with the influx of patients suffering from flu-like symptoms, officials said.

This flu season is shaping up to be one of the more severe in recent years, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
