EASTON, Pa. -

Easton Mayor Sal Panto is chiding a school board member for releasing what he calls "confidential information" to local newspapers.

Mayor Panto says he recently applied for the position of superintendent in the Easton Area School District, but he was rejected.

He says school board member Pat Vulcano told the local newspapers that he had applied for the position and Panto says that information should have been kept confidential.

He says he didn't think the school board would seriously consider him for the position, and he doesn't want people to think he doesn't want to be mayor.
