EASTON, Pa. -

Fire crews responded to a report of a gas leak at a building in downtown Easton late Thursday morning.

The report was called in at the old Case Tires building at 219 N. Third St.

The building is currently under construction, and will be part of Lafayette College's new campus in downtown Easton.

College officials said contractors working at the site smelled gas and called UGI, but the line was not struck.

UGI workers capped the gas line.

There were no injuries.

North Third Street was blocked for awhile during the repair.

The fire department cleared the scene by 11:20 a.m.
