HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

One person was injured and another was arrested after police say an argument led to a machete attack in Northampton County.

It happened around 7 p.m. Monday in a wooded area near the 1400 block of Schoenersville Road in Hanover Township.

Police say 42-year-old Richard Heilman was hospitalized after being hit in the face with a machete by 57-year-old Levine Koerner.

Heilman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenburg for treatment.

Colonial Regional Police found Koerner in the area and took him into custody.

Police said Koerner admitted he assaulted Heilman after the two men had a verbal argument and then Heilman tackled him. Koerner also told police he wished he had cut Hailman's head off, and that the machete assault would teach Heilman not to tackle him.

Police said both men are homeless and had been sleeping in tents in the woods.

Koerner was takent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $750,000.

He was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and making terroristic threats.
