Horse trapped in culvert rescued in Lehigh County

NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -

A horse that got caught in a culvert in Lehigh County is safe, thanks to some observant motorists.

Officials say a horse ended up in a drainage ditch off Mill Creek Road in North Whitehall Twp., after a fence it was resting against gave way.

People driving by noticed the horse and called authorities.

The horse was lying in the culvert for at least an hour before the fire department came to the rescue.

Officials say the horse is doing fine.
