Hundreds plunge for Special Olympics
The winter temperatures didn't stop hundreds of people from jumping into a freezing river.
Saturday was the first ever Lehigh Valley Polar Plunge in Easton.
It was held to support the Northampton County Special Olympics.
Participants raised money for the special Olympics by jumping into the Delaware River.
"The Special Olympics is a great cause. I believe that any fundraiser for the Special Olympics should be well supported and apparently it is," said Joe Veet of Slatington.
WFMZ was well represented at today's plunge.
Our own Jaccii Farris was the emcee of the event.
And Amy Unger, Karin Mallett, Jim Vaughn, and Mark Shanaberger all took the plunge as well.
