The damage locally isn't quite as severe for the most part as in New Jersey and other areas, but Sandy's destruction is evident all around.
Part of the roof was ripped off the Allentown Fire Department's Mack South Fire Station off of Lehigh Street.
The damage wasn't limited to the outside; there's a lot of water damage to the ceiling.
Officials say the firehouse is still operational.
The firefighters' living quarters were not affected.
Clean-up crews all around our region have their hands full, dealing with the aftermath of Sandy.
The high winds knocked a tree into some power lines here in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, including on East Rock Road, just right down the street from Channel 69.
The road reopened around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Sandy didn't spare parts of Upper Saucon Township either. A tree came crashing down onto a house at Lanark and Vera Cruz roads. There's no word if anyone was inside the house at the time.
