A Lehigh County man wanted in New Jersey on a drug charge was taken into custody after a traffic stop, officials said.
Jimmy T. Underwood was arrested after the car he was riding in was stopped at about 3 a.m. Friday at South 3rd and Pine streets in Easton and police discovered there was an active warrant against him, officials said.
The Middlesex County, N.J., sheriff's department confirmed that Underwood was wanted for the manufacture or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, officials said.
Court papers show the warrant for Underwood was issued on Monday, but do not say when Underwood allegedly committed the crime.
Underwood, 32, of 2304 Main St., Whitehall, was arraigned and is awaiting extradition in the Northampton County Prison on $75,000 bail, according to court documents.
