Joseph Brennan granted parole
Former state rep admitted assaulting wife, driving drunk in August
A disgraced former state lawmaker -- who admitted to assaulting his wife and driving drunk -- has been paroled.
Parole was granted for Joseph Brennan on April 7, according to court documents.
Brennan had been on work release-- working in the state House Democratic Caucus.
In January Brennan admitted to assault and DUI charges and was sentenced to three to 23 months in prison.
Police say he punched and choked his wife. -- and drove drunk in August-- when he was still a state representative.
He did not run for reelection.
