Lehigh Co. Exec. William Hansell vetoes county budget
Lehigh County Executive William Hansell has overridden the county commissioners and vetoed their budget.
The new $107 million budget would cut spending and taxes but Hansell says the plan would have added millions of dollars to the deficit.
Hansell says that could mean tax hikes for residents and layoffs for county workers.
The five Republican commissioners who passed the plan need the support of one more commissioner to get around the veto.
