Driver killed in tractor trailer accident
UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -

A man was killed Thursday morning when one tractor trailer rear-ended another in Lehigh County, the coroner said.

The accident happened just after 6 a.m. in the 7000 block of Morris Court, between Ruppsville Road and Industrial Drive, in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said a truck driven by 44-year-old Ronald Dawley of Oswego, N.Y., rear-ended another tractor trailer, and its driver, identified as Richard James, 54, of Reinholds, Lancaster Co., was killed.

James' truck was parked on the side of the road and he was outside the truck when the accident happened. James was caught underneath the tractor trailer, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by thte Lehigh County coroner's office.

Dawley was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Crews were working to clean up fuel that spilled as a result of the accident.
