Motorcyclist charged after police find gun under seat
A motorcyclist is in trouble with the law after police said they found a concealed handgun on his ride.
Officers found a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson under the seat of Rudy Kinchen's motorcycle around 2:25 a.m. Thursday, while Kinchen was stopped in the parking lot of the KFC in the 2500 block of Easton Avenue in Bethlehem, police said.
Officers spotted the gun when Kinchen, 29, voluntarily opened the seat, police said.
Kinchen said he was denied a conceal and carry permit in Northampton County, according to police.
Kinchen, of 1825 Watkins St., Bethlehem, was arraigned on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. July 20.
