One person was killed and two others were injured when a tractor trailer hit a downed motorcyclist.

The accident happened shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday at mile-marker 72 on I-78 East in Williams Twp., Northampton Co.

Police told 69 News that a group of bikers were traveling in the left lane as part of a motorcycle club formation. 

Maxine Hodge was operating a Suzuki cycle when she struck Markeith Kimbrough, who was also on a motorcycle. Both operators were thrown from their bikes.

A third cyclist, Tonya Heckstall, tried to avoid hitting the two and swerved out the way, and was also ejected from her bike. 

A tractor trailer hit Hodge, 42, after she was separated from her cycle.  She died at the scene. Kimbrough, 34, and Heckstall, 43, both suffered serious injuries.
