Following a vote taken Monday night, Dominic Villani became Nazareth School Board’s newest member. He fills the seat Chris Audenried vacated last month.
During a brief interview before the vote, Villani said he is intimately acquainted with the school board and its attendant responsibilities. He said he is a retired educator who went to every board meeting in the past 13 months. His experience includes nearly six years as a consultant to the district and positions ranging from coach to athletic director and teacher.
The board received resumes for the position last Friday and interviewed five candidates at Monday’s meeting. After eliminating three, Villani went up against Audenried’s son Zackary, a junior at Moravian College and a Nazareth graduate, for the seat.
