One arrested in stabbing incident at Dieruff

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Allentown Police said they've made one arrest in the stabbing incident near Dieruff High School on Friday.

Assistant Chief Joe Hanna said Emil Encarnacion, 17, of Allentown was taken into custody at 12:05am Saturday in the area of 9th and Tilghman streets in the city.

Hanna said Encarnacion is a juvenile being charged as an adult in the incident.

Police said just before 3pm Friday, a group attacked a 16 year-old Dieruff student and stabbed him several times in the 500 block of Irving Street.

Encarnacion is being charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

Hanna said police are still searching for three others believed to be involved in the assault.
