PLAINFIELD TWP., Pa. -

A water main replacement project in Northampton County is getting underway.

Pennsylvania American Water is starting work this week on a project in Plainfield Township.

Crews will replace more than 13,000 feet of pipe.

It was first laid back in the 1920s.

Crews will be working along Sullivan Trail between Route 512 and Sexton Road on weekdays from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

That's between Wind Gap and Belfast.

Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.

The project is expected to wrap up by spring.
