HARRISBURG -

A convicted teen killer who's appealing his life sentence could be back in court by the end of the summer.

Qu'eed Batts was just 14-years-old when police said he killed 16-year-old C.J. Edwards in Easton in 2006.

Batts was convicted a year later and sentenced to life in prison, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled late last month that juvenile offenders can't be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Now, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is looking to fast-track Batts' appeal so it can be heard during the court's September session.

The court has asked both parties to file briefings in the case.
