Palmer Township votes to purchase land for expansion of public works
Palmer Township Supervisors met Monday evening for one agenda item: a formality to purchase land to expand their public works facility.
The land was purchased in the amount of $436,160 from Skyview, LLC with taxpayer funds for a public purpose. The property of 11 acres, is located at 576 Nazareth Pike, off of S. Milton Ave., adjacent to the Palmer Public Works facility.
Solicitor Charles Bruno stated there are no current plans for expansion pending, but "someday in the future," the township would like to expand public works. The purchase was originally brought to the board for a vote in December, 2012. The supervisors voted Monday night as a formality in the process to have the deed recorded.
