A PennDOT spokesman says the department is ready for Hurricane Sandy.
The department has already coordinated response efforts with counties and municipalities to address any roadway problems caused by the storm, and is currently in the process of inspecting equipment and checking drainage inlets to remove any debris that may clog the systems, according to spokesman Ron Young.
"We have most everything in order," Young said Saturday morning.
Young said two massive storms that occurred last year, Tropical Storm Lee and Hurricane Irene, have helped the agency with planning efforts for Hurricane Sandy.
"Immediately following those storms, we went over what went well and what could have been handled better," he said. 'There were not major issues, but we learned little things we can do better."
