LOWER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

Two Warren County, N.J., women were arrested for shoplifting after they tried to leave a store with their shopping cart-baby strollers loaded with hundreds of dollars in stolen goods, officials said.

Melinda S. Young and Brittany Wheeler were taken into custody by loss prevention officers at the Walmart at 3722 Easton-Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., at about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Young and Wheeler were seen using blankets to hide some of the items in their shopping cart-baby strollers, officials said, adding that Young took $249.33 worth of goods and Wheeler $157.42,

Young, 24, of 393 Ann St., Phillipsburg, and Wheeler, 22, of 1149 6th Ave., Alpha, were both arraigned on charges of retail theft and conspiracy and released on $2,500 unsecured bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for both at 1 p.m. Oct. 23.
