Police: Barbara Cintron-Santiago, others attacked officer in Bethlehem
A woman was arrested after assaulting a police officer who was trying to disperse a group of women who had gathered while a man was being given a field sobriety test, officials said.
Barbara Cintron-Santiago refused Ofc. Louis D. Csaszar's order to leave the 200 block of East 3rd Street in Bethlehem at 3 a.m. Saturday, and when Csaszar grabbed her by the arm to place her under arrest, she punched him in the face and head several times with a closed fist, officials said.
Cintron-Santiago and four other women punched Csaszar in the back of the head and face as the officer tried to handcuff her, officials said.
Cintron-Santiago, 24, of 1030 Colorado St., Allentown, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstruction and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 4.
