Police: Couple shoplifted more than six dozen pieces of jewelry from Boscov's
A man and a woman were arrested for shoplifting 78 pieces of jewelry from a department store after stuffing the merchandise into his hat, officials said.
Justin L. Bowyer and Natasha Romanishan took the jewelry from a display rack at the Boscov's store in the Palmer Park Mall in Palmer Twp., Northampton Co., and stuffed it into Bowyer's tan beanie at about 3:15 p.m. Friday, officials said.
Bowyer and Romanishan then went to the men's department and grabbed a hooded sweatshirt and a winter hat before trying to leave the store, officials said, adding that the total value of what they took was $1,210.
Bowyer, 23, of 627 Broad St., Tatamy, and Roanishan, 22, of 408 Nazareth Pike, Lower Nazareth Twp., both Northampton Co., were both arraigned on retail theft and conspiracy charges and released on $30,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing for Bowyer is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 9 and for Romanishan at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 9.
