UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -

Police in Lehigh County have one man in custody after they say he stabbed his wife early Friday morning.

Officials say the stabbing happened inside an SUV in the 1100 block of Trexlertown Road in Upper Macungie Twp. around 3:45 a.m.

Police responded to the scene and arrested 28-year-old Demar Campbell, whose last known address was 1327 Chew Street, Allentown.

A 35-year-old woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment of a stab wound to the abdomen, police said.

Campbell was charged with aggravated assault, harassment, driving under the influence and related charges.

He was taken to Lehigh County Prison on $40,000 bail.

Police said they believe alcohol may have been involved.
