BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A man was shot when he returned home Monday afternoon and caught a trio of burglars in the act, police said.

The gunfire erupted around 2:45 p.m. inside a home in the 500 block of Jischke St. in Bethlehem, said. Det. Sgt. Mark DiLuzio, Bethlehem Police Dept.

Kevin Cook, 39, was shot once by one of the three intruders.

Cook was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill, Lehigh Co. DiLuzio said he had no information about the extent of his injuries.

The only description police have of the three intruders is that they are Hispanic men who drove off in a dark-colored SUV.

Police said the intruders fled the scene south on Jischke towards Broadway.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Bethlehem police.
