Police: Warrant issued for man responsible for Lower Nazareth hit-and-run
Police are looking for a 19-year-old Altoona man who is allegedly responsible for a November hit-and-run accident at the Northampton Crossings Mall that sent another motorist to the hospital.
Colonial Regional Police, in a Wednesday release, said an arrest warrant has been issued for Keith Lego, who is accused of causing the Nov. 7 accident while under the influence of marijuana.
Lego was able to be identified as the driver thanks to witnesses who got the license plate number and followed the vehicle as it went north on Route 33. As a result, Lego was stopped by police a short time later.
During an interview with Lego, police said he admitted to smoking marijuana before driving the vehicle. A blood test showed Lego had marijuana and other medications in his blood, according to police.
He was hospitalized following the accident, police said.
Lego is being charged with driving under the influence, hit-and-run of an occupied vehicle, driving with a suspended licenses, marijuana possession, and several other traffic offenses.
