Police make arrest in sale of jewelry stolen in N.J.
A man was arrested in connection with the sale of jewelry stolen during a burglary in New Jersey three months ago, officials said.
Phillip R. Achenbach sold $2,500 worth of jewelry stolen from Deborah Allen, 1503 County Road 517, Allamuchy Twp., Warren Co., on Oct. 18, 2012, to Bangor Coin and Collectibles, 32 South Main St., Bangor, Northampton Co., at 11 a.m. Jan. 8, officials said.
Allen identified the jewelry Achenbach sold as hers after she was shown a photo by police, officials said.
Achenbach, 25, of 530 Belfast Rd., Nazareth, Northampton Co., was arraigned Friday night on a receiving stolen property charge and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $40,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Feb. 5.
