Police still searching for group involved in Fri. shooting
Daniel Matlock Jr. was shot in the back
Wilson Borough Police are still searching for the group of people they believe to be involved in a Friday night shooting near the CVS in the borough.
Police said Daniel Matlock Jr., 27, of the 700 block of Wolfe Avenue in Easton was shot twice in the back in an alley near Northampton and 15th streets in Wilson Borough, Northampton County. Around 10:30 p.m., after being shot, the man made his way into a CVS at that intersection asking for help.
He was rushed to a local hospital.
Police said Matlock reported that while he was in the area of 16th and Pine streets, he was approached by four unknown black males. Matlock told police he was assaulted by one of the males, and the other men went through his pockets, stealing an undetermined amount of cash. Police said during the robbery, one of the males pulled out a handgun and shot Matlock in the arm. Matlock fled and was shot again in the back, police said.
Matlock was taken to St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries, police said. They also believe the incident was not random, and may have been drug related.
The four men were described as black males, all in their late teens or early 20's, wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Meehan at 610-258-8542.
