MACUNGIE, Pa. -

The Macungie Police Officers Association said it wants to drop a lawsuit that it filed against the borough.

The lawsuit was filed after Macungie Mayor Rick Hoffman cut hours for some officers in what he said was an effort to save the borough money.

Earlier this month, a judge ruled that the officers must follow the new scheduling guidelines.

An attorney for the officers association has now asked that the case be withdrawn.
He said his clients respect the judge's decision.
