Steven Repsher, tossed from bar for fighting, injures officer who tried to arrest him, police say
A man who was ejected from a bar for fighting injured the ankle and finger of a police officer who tried to arrest him, officials said.
Steven M. Repsher injured Ofc. Eric Siegfried while trying to escape arrest outside Drinky's, 5 Centre Square, Easton, at 1a.m. Sunday, officials said.
Repsher had been thrown out of the bar for punching a man in the face and was battling with the bar's bouncers when police arrived, officials said.
Repsher pushed away Ofc. Siegfried and tried to run away from police, and once he was on the ground he started kicking at the officers, officials said.
Repsher, 24, of 91 West Main St., Easton, was arraigned on charges of simple and aggravated assault and resisting arrest and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $20,000, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. April 26.
