Teens caught injecting heroin in restaurant restroom, police say
A 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were caught injecting heroin in a fast-food restaurant bathroom, officials said.
Tatum D. Tapler and the girl were arrested in a bathroom stall of the Wendy's at 306 Broadway in Bethlehem at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday as they tried to flush several objects down the toilet, officials said.
Officers found several empty baggies in the toilet and one needle with heroin in it and another that was empty in a garbage can in the stall, said officials, adding that 31 wax baggies of heroin labeled "Rise To Power" were found in a pocket of Tapler's coat.
Tapler, of 704 Sixth Ave., Bethlehem, was arraigned early Thursday morning on charges of drug possession, tampering with evidence, and corruption of minors and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 21.
The 17-year-old girl was arrested on the drug charges, but court papers did not indicate if she was arraigned.
