A community gathered Monday night to call for an end to gun violence, while remembering a couple that was shot and killed in front of their home a year ago.
"We want everybody to know regardless what happened, we're all going to stay united and want everybody to know too, let's increase the peace and protect our children,” said Veronica Santiago, sister of one of the victims.
One year ago, Steven Santiago, 37, and his girlfriend, Adrian Ramirez, 34, were gunned down in front of their Allentown home, while their 4-year-old daughter Tabitha slept inside.
"We just want to send a message to everybody that we need to put the guns down and stop the violence, cause there's kids killing kids and we're leaving children without parents,” said Steven's sister Monica Santiago.
Now to help Tabitha and her family, family friend Justin Fluck known as "Bullet," called on his buddies of the Supreme Ryderz Auto Club to come together and collect donations.
“You get support from where you can find it but we want people to know we're not out here doing wrong, we're not criminals, we're out here for the better of the Lehigh Valley,” he said.
“If there's only one wish we could have is to have him and his wife back but unfortunately that's wishful thinking....we just want to keep his memory alive, not only for us but for his children as well,” said Monica.
