ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

School officials have announced that the Vitalistic Therapeutic Charter School of the Lehigh Valley will close its doors for good.

The school's board of trustees announced that the school will close on January 25, 2013. That's the last day of the first marking period for students. Officials say they made the decision to close the school in order to remain fiscally responsible.

Back on October 24th, The Allentown School District's Board of Directors denied Vitalistic's request to relocate from its current spot at 902 South Forth Avenue to 111 Dewberry Avenue in Bethlehem.

The school is also currently being investigated for allegedly misusing taxpayer funds.

School officials say they are working with Allentown and Bethlehem School Districts to make sure a smooth transition occurs for its students.
